Porters Paints 15

Mix red, yellow and varying amounts of white and you'll have some of the freshest colour accents this season. Coral, tan, rust, copper, call them what you like, these colours are hot right now and what I love is that they can be enjoyed in so many different ways.

Paint for walls or key furniture pieces is an obvious choice but for a hint of tan you can be more subtle without losing the effect. One idea is to create a picture wall incorporating hot splashes and lift the whole look with shimmery copper accents. The Louis Poulsen showroom in Copenhagen had plenty of orange and copper shades going on which I discovered on my recent visit. Teamed with blue, black and lush succulents they really had the balance right for a look that was thoroughly understated and very global.

Lunar design is huge this year and the collaboration between Diesel Living and Seletti incorporating the orange planet is such a fun look for the table. Ralph Lauren on the other hand has always embraced tan leather into his collections. This chair teamed with a natural weave is both smart and incredibly classic.

With such a vibrant colour, often all you need is a dot here and there so to get you started, how about a new cushion or two, maybe place mats or decorative accents around the house? A little goes a long way and they could be just what’s needed to kick your place into gear for summer.

What do you think of this vibrant palette? I’d love to know your thoughts.  Tara x
